Boozer was the British shoegazing band, formed in 1988 by Steve Rippon, Emma Anderson, Meriel Barham, Chris Acland and Miki Berenyi. Barham left nearly immediately, at length settling inside fellow shoegazing band Pale Saints. Robin Guthrie helped the band sign to 4AD and released Scar, an EP, in 1989. Critical praise for Scar & a wildly popular survive indicate established Souse when one of the right-selling elastic in the fresh shoegazing genre of pop music. That season a EPs Mad Love, by Robin Guthrie, and Sweetness & Weak followed.

Around 1990 the LP Gala, which combined a material from their 1st 3 EPs, was freed by Reprise around the United States, the 1st exposure of Dipsomaniac in North America. Their number one LP mass produced higher of totally newly lesson was Spooky in 1992. By Robin Guthrie, Spooky featured the healthy super similar to Guthrie's band Cocteau Twins, with bulwarks of healthy & much of rim. Reviews were mixed & critics of the album hang on to that Guthrie's production brought a healthy out of a band's original originative vision. Split was released within 1994 and featured a additional industrial healthy. Split sold ill, all the same. When adapting to the recently popular sounds of Britpop, Lush's Lovelife became a large marketer of their career, including the hit singles "Ladykillers" & "Single Girl".

Inside 1996, drummer Chris Acland hanged himself in his parents' home when suffering from either depression. Around 1998 the three unexpended members of Dipsomaniac decided to disband. Emmthe Anderson has since formed a newly band, Sing-Sing.
